Working with PCB is not easy, reveals Saeed Ajmal
By Nawaz Gohar ; Former Pakistan star off-spinner Saeed Ajmal has said that working with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is far from easy.
In an interview, Ajmal revealed that he himself resigned from his role as the Pakistan team’s spin bowling coach. Ajmal said he personally felt that the PCB’s behaviour and overall approach toward coaches was inappropriate,
which led him to step down. Giving an example, he stated that during his tenure, he was often not allowed to perform his duties properly, and that even while he was serving as the spin coach, he would hear that another spin bowling coach was being brought in.
He further complained that if a coach associated with the PCB wanted to hold a training camp for new players or conduct his own talent hunt, he was required to obtain an NOC, a process that created unnecessary hurdles and disrupted the work.
Saeed Ajmal also warned that cricket has changed significantly since the 2019 World Cup, and Pakistan must begin preparing new spinners as well as batsmen who can handle quality spin effectively.
