6th Asian Beach Games conclude in Sanya; China claims top spot, Pakistan finishes 15th
By Nawaz Gohar : The 6th Asian Beach Games concluded with a vibrant and colorful closing ceremony, marking the end of a high-spirited competition dominated by host nation China.
According to reports from the host city, Sanya, the ceremony featured a grand march-past by athletes from participating nations. Following captivating performances by local artists, the official flag was ceremoniously handed over to the Philippines, the host nation for the next edition of the games in 2028.
Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), expressed his gratitude to the organizers and reaffirmed the commitment to hosting future competitions in the true spirit of the Olympic Charter.
China secured the top position on the leaderboard, finishing with an impressive total of 54 medals, including 24 gold, 17 silver, and 13 bronze. Thailand followed closely in the rankings, clinching 27 gold, 10 silver, and 8 bronze medals.
Iran claimed the third spot with a total of 10 medals (9 gold and 1 silver). The Philippines finished in fourth place, while India secured the 5th position with 3 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medal.

Pakistan concluded its campaign in 15th place with a total of three medals, comprising two silver and one bronze. The highlights for the national side were international wrestlers Muhammad Inam Butt (90kg category) and Asadullah (80kg category), both of whom secured silver medals after falling short in their respective final bouts.
