Hafeez’ brilliant batting lead to Chargers on victory

Fidel Edwards picked up fantastic bowling figures of 3/5 as the Texas Chargers took down the New Jersey Triton’s by 8 wickets in the US Masters T10 League. The Chargers restricted the Triton’s to 57/9 before chasing down their total in just 4 overs.
Mohammad Hafeez put the Chargers in the driver’s seat with three sixes and a four, however, he was bowled out by Liam Plunkett in the second over. Thereafter, Ben Dunk ensured that the momentum stayed on Texas Chargers’ side with two fours and a six in the next over.
Dunk brought the equation down to 10 runs off 43 balls before departing in the third over, after which, Mukhtar Ahmed and Thisara Perera took the Chargers over the line with 6 overs to spare.
Earlier in the day, the Texas Chargers won the toss and put the New Jersey Triton’s into bat. Fidel Edwards got the Chargers off to a fantastic start after dismissing Naman Ojha and Yusuf Pathan in successive deliveries in the first over. Thereafter, Ehsan Adil also joined the party, dismissing Jesse Ryder and Chris Barnwell in the fourth over. The Triton’s were reeling at 17/4.
Peter Trego and Danza Hyatt tried to get their innings going with a few boundaries, but even they fell in quick succession, leaving the Triton’s at 41/6. The Triton’s couldn’t find a way to string partnerships as the Chargers restricted them to 57/9 in their 10 overs.
