President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari awarded Hilal Imtiaz to Arshad Nadeem, who brought the first individual gold medal for Pakistan in javelin throw competitions in Paris Olympics 2024, and also announced a reward of Rs 10 crore for him.

In a special ceremony held at the President’s House, the President conferred the highest civil award, Hilal Imtiaz, on Arshad Nadeem in recognition of his outstanding services in the field of sports. He has also announced a reward of Rs 10 crore for Arshad Nadeem.

He said that for the welfare of the players, I will ask the Sindh government to contribute 25 crore rupees to the endowment fund of the Pakistan Sports Board.

He said that Arshad Nadeem has encouraged the youth to overcome obstacles and make a mark in the field of sports at the global level. On August 8, Arshad Nadeem made history by throwing the longest throw of 92.97 meters in Olympic history, winning Pakistan the Olympic gold medal after 40 years.
