Husnain Ali Rizwan upsets Asad Zaman in boys U-18 singles opener

The Millat Tractors Junior National Tennis Championship 2025 was formally inaugurated here at the Punjab Tennis Academy Bagh-e-Jinnah, Lahore on Monday.
Mr. Imran Ayub, Senior Manager Admin Millat Tractors Limited, and Mr. Rashid Malik (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz), SEVP of Punjab Lawn Tennis Association, graced the opening ceremony as chief guests and inaugurated the prestigious tournament during a colorful opening ceremony held here.
Mr. Waqar Nisar, Finance Secretary of PLTA, Mr. Asif Riaz, Tournament Referee, Mr. Faheem Siddiqui, Tournament Coordinator, players and their families were also present on this occasion.
The honourable chief guests were introduced with all the participating players, while he also witnessed an U-18 singles match and applauded both the players for showcasing their skills during the match.
Total more than 22 matches were played on the first day of the championship. All the top players advanced to the second round with comfortable wins and a high standard of tennis was witnessed during some of the matches.
In the boys U-18 1st round, Muhammad Yahya beat Anis Khan 6-4, 6-1, Hamza Ali Rizwan beat M Haider, Abdur Rehman Rana beat Rehaan Khan 6-0, 6-0, M Omer Ali beat Ahmad Hussain 7-5, 6-0, Abubakar Talha beat Abubakar Khalil 6-0, 6-1, Omer Jawad beat Bilal Awais 6-0, 6-0, Husnain Ali Rizwan beat Asad Zaman 5-7, 6-4, 7-6, Hamza Ali Rizwan beat M Haider 6-1, 6-2 and M Junaid Khan beat Muhammad Huzaima 6-3, 6-4.
In the boys U-14 1st round, Ohad e Mustafa beat Romail Shahid 4-0, 4-1, Majid Ali Bachani beat Anis Khan 4-2, 4-2, Muhammad Ayan beat Awais Zia 4-1,(rtd), Aliyan Ali beat Salaar Kamran Khan 4-2, 5-3, M Ibraheem Hussain Gill beat M Ehsan Bari 4-0, 4-0, M Ayaan Khan beat Zayd Mansoor 4-1, 5-3.
