Sialkot finalise powerhouse squad for PSL 11; Smith leads with record Rs14 crore deal
By Nawaz Gohar ; The Sialkot Stallionz have successfully finalized their squad for the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11, revealing the significant financial investments made to secure a formidable lineup.
The franchise made the biggest headline of the auction by direct-signing Australian batting legend Steve Smith for a staggering 14 crore PKR, marking the highest bid of the season.
Regarding their retentions, the team kept hold of Mohammad Nawaz for 6.16 crore PKR, Salman Mirza for 3.94 crore PKR, Ahmed Daniyal for 2.24 crore PKR, and Saad Masood for 84 lakh PKR. Adding to their local strength, the Stallionz also secured the services of Sahibzada Farhan for 6.16 crore PKR.
The international roster was further bolstered with the acquisitions of Ashton Turner (4.2 crore PKR), Peter Siddle (2.5 crore PKR), and South African spin wizard Tabraiz Shamsi (2.2 crore PKR).
To round out the squad, the franchise picked up Jahanzaib Sultan, Lachlan Shaw, and Delano Potgieter at a bid of 60 lakh PKR each.
