By Nawaz Gohar : Three globally acclaimed hockey coaches have arrived in Pakistan and formally taken charge of their responsibilities to help improve the sport in the country.

The newly inducted coaching staff includes David Dyer (Fitness Coach), Bob Weidow (Goalkeeping Coach and Penalty Corner Attack & Defense Specialist), Chris Bowen (Technical Coach and Sports Psychologist), said a press release.

Upon their arrival this morning, the coaches held a detailed and important meeting with the management of the Pakistan Hockey Federation. The discussion focused on a comprehensive roadmap for the national hockey program, covering short-term, medium-term, and long-term development plans.

Demonstrating their professional commitment from day one, the coaches also attended the final match of the Prime Minister’s National Junior Girls Hockey Championship. The purpose was to assess emerging talent in Pakistan and to closely evaluate the current standard of women’s hockey.

PHF officials expressed strong confidence that the expertise of these coaches will give new momentum to the development of hockey in Pakistan at all levels. The coaching staff will work with the senior national team, junior teams (Under-21 and Under-18), as well as the women’s hockey program to bring them up to modern international standards.

The Pakistan Hockey Federation is aiming to usher in a new era focused on professionalism, modern player training, and restoring Pakistan’s hockey performance to the highest levels on the international stage.
