High-quality action marks opening day of K2 PSA Challenger Championship 2026

By Nawaz Gohar ;  The inaugural K2 Squash PSA Challenger 15K Championship 2026, presented by One World Squash, got off to an exciting start at the K2 Squash Club, delivering a day full of high-intensity and competitive squash.

Among the standout performances, Egypt’s Seif Shenawy advanced with a solid 3-1 victory over Pakistan’s Muhammad Naveed Alam, while Malaysia’s Joachim Chuah impressed with a straight-set win against Hao Cui of the USA. New Zealand’s Lwamba Chileshe and Malaysia’s Nathan Kueh also progressed after registering hard-fought victories in their respective encounters.

In the bottom half of the draw, Egypt’s Aly Tolba and Marwan Tamer secured important wins, with Tamer involved in one of the most thrilling matches of the day,

edging past Mexico’s Cesar Segundo Corona in a five-game battle. South Africa’s Damian Groenewald also moved into the next round with a composed performance.

Tournament Director Muhammad Naveed Alam expressed satisfaction over the successful opening day, highlighting the high standard of competition and the strong response from players and spectators alike. He noted that the inaugural edition has begun on a positive note and expressed optimism for an engaging tournament ahead.
