Historic ACTIVIT Margalla Triathlon debuts on Marka-e-Haq Day
Islamabad: The first-ever ACTIVIT Margalla Triathlon 2026 was held in Islamabad on Marka-e-Haq Day, marking Pakistan’s debut Olympic and Sprint-style triathlon.
The event brought together local and international athletes who competed across swimming, cycling, and running disciplines, showcasing endurance, discipline, and sportsmanship.
In the main results, Shahrez Khan, widely regarded as Pakistan’s leading triathlete, won the individual title, further strengthening his reputation as the country’s top endurance athlete with growing international recognition. The Pakistan Army team secured victory in the team category.

In other categories, Saltanat Sambina won the women’s sprint solo event, Evgenii Yusyuk claimed the Olympic solo title, Enub Khan won the 5-kilometre fun race, while Mona Khan finished second.
The event was jointly organised by Margalla Trail Runners and ACTIVIT and is being seen as a milestone in promoting endurance sports in Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, ACTIVIT Ambassador Moazzam Khan Klair said the event reflected unity, resilience, and national spirit on Marka-e-Haq Day. He noted that civilians and armed forces stood together in the face of Indian aggression, demonstrating shared resolve and commitment to national dignity.
“All participants showed exceptional endurance and discipline. The event was not only a competition but a message of unity, strength, and perseverance,” he said.
He also acknowledged the role of courageous civilians, volunteers, organisers, medical teams, and sports communities, crediting them for making the event a success and strengthening national cohesion.
Moazzam Khan Klair credited Rd. Rizwan Aftab Ahmed, CEO of ACTIVIT and Director National Hospital DHA Lahore, for sponsoring the event. He dedicated the occasion to the martyrs of the nation and to those contributing to Pakistan’s progress through courage and service.
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, highlighting the successful introduction of triathlon culture in Pakistan.
