Shaheen Afridi scripts history, becomes first Pakistani to take 100 WTC wickets
By Nawaz Gohar ; Pakistan’s star fast bowler, Shaheen Shah Afridi, has made history by achieving a major milestone in the World Test Championship (WTC). During the opening Test against Bangladesh in Dhaka,
he became the first Pakistani bowler to complete 100 wickets in the tournament’s history.
The left-arm pacer crossed this significant landmark during the first day of the Mirpur Test. Shaheen claimed his historic 100th wicket by dismissing Bangladeshi opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy.
With this feat, the 26-year-old speedster has not only become the first Pakistani to reach the century mark in the WTC but has also joined an elite global list as the 19th bowler overall to achieve 100 wickets in the championship since its inception.
