PHF in financial crisis: Coaches await millions in unpaid dues for 8 years

By Nawaz Gohar ; The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) owes millions of rupees to the coaches of both senior and junior teams, with these dues remaining unpaid for several years.

According to sources, the coaching staff has not received their payments for the past eight years due to the negligence of former officials. While sources indicate that players’ daily allowances have been cleared, the coaches remain deprived of their past dues. In response, the coaches are considering holding a joint press conference after Eid-ul-Fitr to formally voice their demands.

Interim President Rana Mujahid Ali (noted as Mohiuddin Ahmed Wani in the text) has decided to conduct an audit of the financial affairs from the last five years and intends to present the matter before the Auditor General of Pakistan.

Sources further reveal that the national team camp for the third phase of the FIH Pro Hockey League will commence after Eid-ul-Fitr. An announcement regarding the new selection committee is also expected within the next few days, as consultations between Management Committee Chairmen Islahuddin and Hassan Sardar have been completed.

The federation’s troubles don’t end there; employees have also not been paid their salaries for the period of September to December 2023, further compounding the administrative and financial crisis within the organization.
