PSL 11 action shifts to Karachi from April 8; PCB considers crowd attendance

By Nawaz Gohar ; The festivities of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11th edition are set to take over Karachi’s National Stadium starting April 8. Following a rest day on the 7th, the Karachi leg of the matches will commence and continue until the 19th.

Preparations at the Karachi stadium are in full swing; the surrounding roads and the interior of the stadium are being decorated with PSL banners and portraits of the players. It is worth noting that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) did not hold any matches in Karachi during the previous international season, with all fixtures hosted in Lahore, Rawalpindi, or Multan.

According to sources, once the matches begin in Karachi, the PCB is considering seeking government permission to allow spectators into the stadium after a few days; however, no final decision has been made yet.

While the PCB had initially announced that PSL 11 matches would be held across Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, and Peshawar, the league was later restricted to just Karachi and Lahore due to the government’s austerity policy.
