Rilee Rossouw becomes first overseas player to reach 100 HBL PSL appearances
By Nawaz Gohar ; Quetta Gladiators’ star batter Rilee Rossouw has etched his name into the record books, becoming the first overseas cricketer to complete 100 matches in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL).
With this milestone, the South African stalwart joins an elite group of players, becoming only the fourth individual overall to reach a century of appearances in the league, following in the footsteps of domestic stars Imad Wasim, Babar Azam, and Fakhar Zaman.
Ahead of the landmark fixture, PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer and Quetta Gladiators owner Nadeem Omar extended their congratulations to Rossouw. In a special pre-match ceremony, he was presented with a commemorative honorary Gladiators helmet to mark his historic achievement and contribution to the franchise.
Hailing from South Africa, Rossouw has been a permanent fixture in the HBL PSL since 2017. Over the past decade, he has represented Quetta Gladiators for six seasons and spent four seasons with Multan Sultans, establishing himself as one of the league’s most consistent and impactful performers.
His statistical record is equally formidable. Rossouw currently stands as the fourth-highest run-scorer in HBL PSL history, having amassed 2,366 runs, bolstered by 11 half-centuries and three brilliant centuries. Furthermore, he holds the prestigious record for the most runs scored by any foreign player in the tournament’s history.
The milestone underscores Rossouw’s enduring commitment to Pakistan’s premier T20 competition and his status as a legendary figure in the league’s global narrative.
