Two tons, 383 runs: Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan shortlisted for ICC top honor

By Nawaz Gohar ; The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the nominees for the T20 World Cup Player of the Tournament, featuring Pakistan’s opener, Sahibzada Farhan.

According to the list released by the ICC, Sahibzada Farhan delivered a stellar performance throughout the tournament, scoring 383 runs in 7 matches with an outstanding average of 76.60 and a strike rate of 160.25.

By accumulating 383 runs in just 6 innings, Farhan has set a new record for the highest number of runs scored in a single edition of the T20 World Cup.

His campaign included centuries against Sri Lanka and Namibia, making him the only batter in history to score two centuries in a single T20 World Cup edition.

Other players shortlisted for the prestigious award include: England: Will Jacks; South Africa: Lungi Ngidi and Captain Aiden Markram; New Zealand: Rachin Ravindra and Tim Seifert; USA: Shadley van Schalkwyk and India: Sanju Samson.

The ICC T20 World Cup final is set to take place this Sunday in Ahmedabad, where India will face New Zealand.
