Controversy Erupts Over Unapproved Sports Equipment Purchases for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Competitions
Peshawar , The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate has reported the acquisition of sports equipment worth 6.733 million rupees for five inter-district sports events.
This follows the purchase of additional equipment valued at 14.257 million rupees for the merged districts, covering the fiscal year 2022-23.
The equipment, which includes items for football, volleyball, cricket, badminton, and athletics, has been procured and is currently in stock.
Awan Hussain served as Assistant Directorate Admin and store in-charge from 2019 to July 2023, while Administrator Asad managed the provincial sports directorate from January 2020 to October 2023.
Despite the equipment being readily available, the submitted reports and findings of the inquiry committee remain unapproved by the relevant authorities.
