Mustafa, Shahreen win titles at Ramadan Weekend Junior Tennis Championship
LAHORE: Mustafa Uzair Rana and Shahreen Umer clinched the boys and girls U-14 singles titles respectively at the Ramadan Weekend Junior Tennis Championship 2026 at the Punjab Tennis Academy, Bagh-e-Jinnah.
Mustafa Uzair Rana emerged as the standout performer of the day, clinching titles in multiple categories. In the boys U-14 final, he edged past Daniyal Abdullah in a closely contested match, winning it by 7-6. He continued his impressive run by securing the boys U-12 title as well, defeating the same opponent 6-3.
In the girls U-14 final, Shahreen Umer outplayed Shahnoor Umer with a convincing 6-2 victory, displaying excellent control and match awareness. The boys/girls U-10 final saw Mustafa Zia claim the title with a solid 6-3 win over Mamnoon Bari, further underlining the promising future of junior tennis in the country.
In the seniors 45+ doubles final, the pair of Shehryar Salamat and Hadi Hussain delivered a commanding performance to defeat Dr. Arif and Arif Feroze 6-2, demonstrating experience and composure on court.
The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including former Secretary of Pakistan Tennis Federation Col (R) Asif Dar, Finance Secretary of PLTA Waqar Nisar, former national tennis player Haseeb Aslam, Sohail Malik, and Nauman Aleem, who appreciated the efforts of the organisers and the high standard of competition on display.
