Islamabad (Abdul Ghaffar Khan) The Chief of the Air Staff – Serena Hotels International Squash Championship 2025 concluded with a thrilling final and a graceful closing ceremony held today at the Mushaf Squash Complex, Islamabad. The event, jointly organized by the Pakistan Squash Federation and Serena Hotels,
ran from 24 to 28 November and featured participation from seven Pakistani players along with 17 world-ranking players from the Czech Republic, Egypt, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia and Switzerland.
Under its Sports Diplomacy Initiative, Serena Hotels once again showcased its commitment to promoting harmony among nations and highlighting Pakistan’s presence on the global sports map.
The championship not only demonstrated Pakistan’s exceptional capability to host world-class sporting events but also provided young athletes with a valuable opportunity to compete at an international level.
The final match was contested between Pakistan’s rising stars Noor Zaman and Muhammad Hamza Khan, delivering an intense and nerve-testing encounter. World No. 43 Noor Zaman made a remarkable comeback after losing the first two games, defeating World No. 101 Hamza Khan by 2-3 to clinch the championship title. The game scores were 9-11, 7-11, 11-7, 11-4, 11-8, with the match lasting 46 minutes.
Air Marshal Kazim Hammad, President of the Pakistan Squash Federation, graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest and presented trophies and souvenirs to the players. Air Vice Marshal Sohail Akbar, Serena Hotels COO Mr. Fahim Inam, squash legend Qamar Zaman, Dr. Riaz Khan, Adnan Asad, and a large number of players, officials, and squash enthusiasts were also present.
Noor Zaman’s outstanding victory is a ray of hope for the future of Pakistan squash, while the successful organization of this championship once again proves that Pakistan is fully capable of hosting world-class international sporting events.
