The South African government dissolved the cricket board and took control of all affairs.
South Africa’s Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) has suspended Cricket South Africa for a month.
Acting Chief Executive SASCO Ravi Gondar said the move was taken because of Cricket South Africa’s governance and negative thinking so that the board could focus on its own affairs in the future.
The South African Cricket Board’s affairs came under crisis when a report on the organisation’s conduct was published, which led to the resignation of the board’s chief executive, Thabang Moore, in August.
Chief executive Thabang Moore was suspended nine months before he was fired, but the board did not release the news.
“We asked the board to be on the sidelines so that we could form a team to look after the affairs of the board and report back to us within a month,” he said.
