PBF Start Drawing Room Elections, PSB Must Intervene, Razi demand.
By Nawaz Gohar ; Former national badminton coach, Raziuddin Ahmad revealed that Pakistan Badminton Federation is compiling it’s habitual concealed elections of all provincial bodies nationwide for the next year term (2025-29). PBF took start from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Badminton Association.
Razi exposed a list of the pre decided office bearers in which the candidate on the key positions of the Chairman Sajjad Ali, President Bilal Khan and Secretary General Mian Sadaqat Shah are selected unopposed.
The nominations of the candidates Zafar Ali Khan, M. Amjad Khan and Dilfaraz Khan for these posts respectively are treated as rejected on a self-made false reason showing that the nominator (Bilal Khan) and the seconder (Najm Ur Rehman) of the candidate is not included in the electoral list.
Amazingly both nominator and seconder are not only in the list of electoral panel but also enjoyed the President and Sr. Vice President positions in the new selected KP badminton association.
PBF completed all paper work in secret without the announcement of the election date. The other so-called office bearers are given designations just like the fill in the blanks for the different posts. It is important to mention that as per the secret papers leaked out the election date is set on 30th August 2025 while everything is set two weeks before yet to be announced. See the attached list.
Razi, demanded from Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) to intervene to stop this evil practice whereas nothing is transparent as per the directions of PSB electoral office for the elections of national sports federations.
No pre scrutiny of the clubs carried out therefore the districts bodies are also in question and if outlined imaginary that may be on papers to fulfill the formalities.
I am surprised over the mysterious silence of Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) on these shadowy elections of PBF who don’t recognize Pakistan Badminton Federation (PBF) since December 2021 and issued a letter to PBF in January 2022 regarding the clear violation of PSB’s electoral procedure then how can the representative of this unrecognize federation can hold provincial body’s election, Razi raised the question.
Former national badminton coach Razi is worried if PSB do not take the action well in time against this bad practice of bogus elections of PBF then what is the role of highly paid PSB Election Commission Staff?
This nefarious selection by Pakistan Badminton Federation (PBF) and distributing the designation to the like-minded friends will damage the image of transparency.
It effects the badminton players and keeps away the genuine people from the national circuit who want to serve the game. PSB must stop it so save the spirit of neat sports in Pakistan, Razi plead.
