President Putin signals Russia’s readiness to host future Olympic Games

By Nawaz Gohar ;  President Vladimir Putin has officially stated that Russia remains prepared and eager to host future Olympic Games, emphasizing the nation’s historical significance and organizational expertise within the global sporting movement.

In a formal message marking the 115th anniversary of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), President Putin extended his congratulations to the organization, noting that Russia stands among the foundational pillars of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The President highlighted Russia’s long-standing involvement in the modern Olympic era, which dates back to 1900. He specifically referenced the country’s successful track record as a host nation for two major iterations of the games: The 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. The 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
