Qalandars-Zimbabwe Alliance: Clive Madande and Tashinga Musekiwa join Lahore setup

By Nawaz Gohar ;   Lahore Qalandars have officially integrated Zimbabwean stars Clive Madande and Tashinga Musekiwa into their high-performance setup.

The move is the latest chapter in a visionary 10-year partnership established in 2023 between the Qalandars and Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC). This unique exchange program allows Qalandars’ homegrown prospects to compete in Zimbabwe’s domestic circuit, while Zimbabwe’s brightest talents gain elite exposure within the Pakistan Super League (PSL) environment.

Meet the New Recruits:
Clive Madande: A dynamic wicketkeeper-batter already seasoned at the international level, Madande is celebrated for his aggressive stroke-play and composure under pressure.

Tashinga Musekiwa: A hard-hitting middle-order batter, Musekiwa is widely regarded as one of the most explosive future prospects for Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe Cricket Managing Director, Givemore Makoni, hailed the collaboration as a “vital pathway,” noting that exposing players to the modern demands of the PSL will accelerate their professional growth.

Lahore Qalandars owner, Sameen Rana, expressed immense pride in the initiative. “We are the only franchise to hold a long-term contract with a Test-playing nation—a milestone not just for us, but an honor for the Pakistan Cricket Board,” Rana stated. “We warmly welcome Clive and Tashinga into the Qalandars family and look forward to seeing them make their mark.”

The program has already yielded significant results. Qalandars’ players like Maaz Khan and Salman Mirza have previously utilized Zimbabwe’s domestic matches to sharpen their skills in different conditions, setting a high benchmark for this collaborative bridge between the two nations.
