By Nawaz Gohar ; In a significant development for the sport, Sahibzada Sultan Muhammad Ali has been elected to the Board of Directors of the World Tent Pegging Federation (WTPF). This appointment grants Pakistan a strategic seat at the global decision-making forum for the sport.
Sahibzada Sultan, the former President of the Pakistan International Tent Pegging Federation, has a distinguished track record in Asian tent pegging. Under his leadership, Pakistan achieved historic milestones, including a medal haul of three Gold, two Silver, and two Bronze medals. Notably, Pakistan also secured the title of “Second World Best Team” after defeating India in the World Cup.
His tenure was marked by several pioneering initiatives:
Hosting International Events: Orchestrated the first-ever international tournament in Pakistan featuring nine participating nations.
World Cup Qualifiers: Successfully organized the 2023 World Cup Qualifiers.
Inclusivity & Innovation: Established the national women’s team and introduced Horseback Archery competitions to the country.
