Younis Khan likely to return to PCB; reports suggest appointment to key role
By Nawaz Gohar ; Former Pakistan cricket captain Younis Khan is expected to be assigned significant responsibilities within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
According to sources, the PCB has reached out to the legendary batter to further strengthen the country’s cricket structure. He is reportedly being considered for the position of Director of Domestic Cricket. It is further understood that Younis Khan has expressed his willingness to serve and contribute to the improvement of the game.
PCB sources indicate that the board aims to utilize the vast experience of veteran players like Younis Khan—following in the footsteps of Misbah-ul-Haq and Sarfaraz Ahmed—to enhance the overall cricket system.
Younis Khan boasts an illustrious career, having scored over 10,000 runs in 118 Test matches, while also representing Pakistan in 265 ODIs and 25 T20Is. He has also previously served as the head coach of the national team.
Reports suggest that PCB officials made formal contact with him a few days ago, and he has confirmed his availability. However, the final appointment will be officially announced following approval from Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.
