Squash Coach of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Absent from National Games, Raises Concerns
QUETTA – In an unexpected turn of events, the squash coach of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa failed to participate in the National Games despite his name being enlisted as a player. The coach’s decision to register himself as a player and his absence from the competitions has raised questions within the squash team.
According to reliable sources, the coach of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate nominated himself as a player to replace the team members. However, he did not actively participate in the competitions. Similarly, the talented squash player was not given an opportunity to showcase their skills, as no trials were conducted for player selection.
Internal sources reveal that the coach had included his name as a player while the squash coach of Hayatabad Sports Complex was requested to join the team as a manager. Surprisingly, the designated personality manager from Peshawar was not included in the manager meeting. Furthermore, the squash coach, who had enlisted himself as a player, also failed to make an appearance during the competitions.
It is disheartening to note that no trials were conducted to select the top squash players. The list provided on April 28, as per Squash Coach Munawr Zaman, indicated that the top four male and female players ranking in Karachi would represent Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the National Games. Unfortunately, none of them made it to the competitions.
The absence of the squash coach and the failure to include deserving players have raised concerns within the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa squash team. The incident highlights the need for transparent selection processes and better coordination within the sports directorate.
