Sindh High Court summons DG Pakistan Sports Board over Pakistan Padel Federation petition

Exclusive News by Gohar Nawaz – The High Court of Sindh has officially issued a notice to the Director General of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), summoning them to appear before the court on January 23, 2026.

The legal action follows a Constitution Petition filed under Article 199 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973, by the Pakistan Padel Federation.

The petition, identified as C.P. No. D-5867 of 2025, names the Pakistan Sports Board and several other entities as respondents. In addition to the Director General of the PSB, the court has also addressed the following parties:

Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP): Addressed through its Incharge CRO in Karachi.
The Deputy Attorney General for Pakistan: Notified at the Karachi station.

The notice, issued under the hand and seal of Assistant Registrar (Writ) Noor Ahmed Kalhoro on December 9, 2025, mandates that the respondents appear in person or through a duly instructed pleader.

The Pakistan Padel Federation has approached the court to seek judicial intervention regarding administrative or regulatory matters involving the national sports governing body.

While the specific grievances of the Federation were not detailed in the summary, the filing of a Constitution Petition typically involves the enforcement of fundamental rights or challenges to the legality of state actions.

The court has scheduled the hearing for the main case and miscellaneous applications for 08:15 A.M. on the morning of January 23, 2026. The respondents are required to “show cause” against the petition. The court has warned that a failure to appear will result in the petition being heard and determined ex-parte (in the absence of the responding party).
