Motie and Muzarabani withdraw from PSL 11; Lahore Qalandars name replacement

By Nawaz Gohar ; West Indian all-rounder Gudakesh Motie and Zimbabwean fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani have officially withdrawn from the upcoming 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Gudakesh Motie, who was drafted by Lahore Qalandars, has informed the franchise management of his unavailability. According to cricket sources, Motie’s decision stems from extensive travel fatigue and his commitments to the West Indies national squad for the upcoming World Cup.

In response, the Lahore Qalandars management has confirmed that Sri Lankan young sensation Dunith Wellalage will join the squad as his replacement, with an official announcement expected shortly.

In a separate blow to the tournament’s overseas roster, Zimbabwe’s pace spearhead Blessing Muzarabani has notified Islamabad United that he will not be participating in PSL 11. Reports indicate that Muzarabani has secured a contract with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Following the official confirmation of his IPL deal, Islamabad United has begun the search for a suitable replacement to maintain their bowling strength.

These withdrawals come shortly after the announcement of the PSL 11 schedule. Despite the loss of these key players, team managements have expressed confidence that their overall tactical plans remain intact. These late changes will allow franchises to refresh their squads and ensure full strength ahead of the league’s commencement.
