MIES (Switzerland) – The FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup Qualifying Tournaments are set to tip off on Thursday with rosters of all teams now finalized.
Hosted in Osaka (Japan), Belgrade (Serbia) and Washington D.C. (USA), the four events will take place from February 10-13, qualifying a total of 10 teams to complete the 12-team field for the World Cup. Two of the tournaments will be played in Belgrade. Two games of the Qualifying Tournament in Washington D.C. will also be played in Santo Domingo.

The top 3 placed teams of each qualifying tournament will qualifyFIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2022 in Sydney, Australia.
Both the USA, winners of the Tokyo 2020 Women’s Olympic Basketball Tournament, and Australia, the World Cup hosts, will play in the qualification tournaments but are guaranteed berths in the World Cup regardless of their results.
If the USA or Australia were to finish outside the top three, only the top two teams from the respective group would qualify for the World Cup.
The FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup will take place from September 22 – October 1, 2022.
