Gerry’s Pakistan clinch 14th UAE Ambassador Cup Ramadan Football title after beating Qatar Embassy

ISLAMABAD: Gerry’s Pakistan has secured the title of the 14th UAE Ambassador Cup Ramadan Football Tournament by defeating the Qatar Embassy in the final match.

The colorful event, organized by the UAE Embassy in Pakistan, featured ten competing teams, with technical support provided by the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF). In the high-stakes final, Gerry’s Pakistan triumphed over the Qatar Embassy with a score of 5-2, thanks to a brilliant hat-trick by Khayyam Khattak and a goal by Saqib Anwar. Earlier, Afghanistan secured third place by defeating the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) team with a 4-1 victory.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, attended the closing ceremony as the Guest of Honor. Alongside the UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, Salem Mohammed Salem Al Bawab Al Zaabi, and PFF President Syed Mohsin Gilani, the Minister distributed prizes among the players.

The ceremony saw a significant presence of diplomats and officials, including Member of the National Assembly Syeda Amna Batool, as well as the ambassadors of Morocco, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Libya, and Romania, along with senior Pakistani officials and diplomatic staff.

This annual tournament, hosted by the UAE Embassy in collaboration with the PFF, aims to promote sports, cultural ties, and community harmony during the holy month of Ramadan.
